Designs and Descriptions
Here are a few of the designs I use on my pottery with a brief description and some information on their origin.


"Beasties"
This design, containing 5 peacocks and 10 serpents, is based on the "eight-circled cross" page in the Book of Kells.

I use this on:

"Cadbol Ribbon"

The three interweaving ribbons of this design were inspired by the "Hilton of Cadbol Stone" from Ross Shire, Scotland.

Epona
"Epona"
This design of three horses and a single continuous interweaving ribbon is based on a Stone at Inverurie in Aberdeen Shire, Scotland.

"Her Noblest Work"
This is an original design I created in 1999. It shows Mother Nature creating woman in her own image and was inspired by the Robert Burns poem "Green grow the Rashes, O".

"Kells Knot"
This continuous ribbon comes from the "Book of Kells" where half of it appears on page 32V as a semicircle. It is doubled here to form a circle.

"Meigle Medallion"
This simple but elegant knot is from a stone in the village of Meigle in Perthshire, Scotland.

"Three Birds"
The three birds on this design are based on a 4th/5th century Pictish stone that was later built into St. Vigean's (St. Fichean) Church near Arbroath, Scotland.

"Three Dogs"
The three dogs is this design are from the Book of Kells. They form a small circle on page 29R.

"Welsh Dragon"
This is the red dragon from the national flag of Wales. I use it to represent the Celtic Spirit.
